2013 Mercedes SL gets an early reveal on the web

The 2012 Mercedes SL hardtop convertible isn't supposed to have a full reveal until next month in Detroit. And yet here it is, in its full big-eye glory. The interwebs win again.

We haven't heard many details of the range-topping convertible, including whatever powerplants may reside under the long hood. The photos via GermanCarForum do show the SL maintaining the folding metal roof and retro-ish interior style of its predecessors -- although the front headlights are already proving divisive among the faithful. We'll snap our own shots at the Detroit show in January, where its always perfect weather for top-down motoring if you're a fan of frostbite.
