Is America ready for a pink mini Chevy???

This is an official image from General Motors of the 2013 Chevrolet Spark, a five-door minicar it will offer to U.S. customers in about seven months with a range of tech features and bold colors, including this shade called "Techno Pink." While it will match the sportcoats of a few car dealers, is the rest of America ready for a pink mini Chevy?

Aimed at the same shoppers mulling the Fiat 500 and Scion iQ, the Spark will be the smallest car ever sold by Chevrolet on these shores. Built and designed in South Korea, the Spark's 85-hp, 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine will haul up to four people protected by 10 air bags and entertained through a 7-inch touch screen.
GM has promised "competitive" fuel economy (the Scion gets 37 mpg combined city/highway, the Fiat 33 mpg), but cars of this size tend to be less about frugality than fashion. We'll get a closer look later this week when Chevy puts the Spark on the catwalk at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
